The Quickest Way to Get Into Web3 in 2022 and Beyond

This is not the regular Web3 developer roadmap, it's the fastest way you can become a big player in Web3!

Towards the end of 2021, Web3 received a massive reception and acceptance within the developer community. A lot of established developers started transitioning into the new technology and beginners who barely started learning HTML was pledging to get into Web3.

Web3 hopes to bring power directly to the people by decentralizing the web – taking power away from the tech monsters who own much of the web today. Yes, tech monsters like FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Google) companies. This sounds like democratizing the Web, isn’t it?

Since Web3 hopes to bring power directly to the people, a lot of people who see Web2 as a scam would really want to transition into Web3. Others who are around for the money would want to transition too due to the huge investments in Web3, and some others who are lifelong learners like me would not want to “sleep on it”.

Onto the Exact Way you can get into Web3

The question is, would anyone ever become a Web3 or Blockchain developer overnight? It’s a no-brainer that the answer is NO! Because no one can even become a backend, frontend, or fullstack developer overnight.

Web3 is pretty new and the biggest chunk of Web3 is at a “developer-only phase”. In fact, the term “Web3” was not coined for the new shiny technology until 2014 by the co-founder of Ethereum, Gavin Wood.

In addition, Web3 currently has a lot of limitations such as slow transactions (scalability), difficulties in interacting with Web3 applications, and accessibility, which would take a long time to fix.

Since Web3 is much more at a “developer-only phase”, the best way to get into Web3 at a moment like this is to educate people about it. This means you should aim to be a:

  • Web3 content creator – the creation of Web3-related video and written content
  • Web3 content writer – the creation of user-friendly blog posts on Web3
  • Web3 technical writer – writing technical articles, documentation, and user guides for Web3 products
  • Web3 developer advocate – entails all of the above, and also answering developer-related questions on a platform like StackOverflow

Conclusion

It’s no doubt that Web3 is new, so there are few “masters” of Blockchain development out there. As already said, Web3 is pretty much at a “developer-only” phase and a lot of people are learning it, so the best way to get into it now is to teach people what you are learning by creating content.

If you want to be a Web3 technical writer, in particular, you should consider following me on Twitter as a lot of my tweets and engagements dwell on technical writing. I even have a thread on how you can write a great technical article.
